'Go Away': Hiker Comes Face To Face With Mountain Lion On SoCal Trail
"No, no, no — go away," the hiker tells the animal in the video, posted to Instagram, as the mountain lion walks toward her.
OJAI, CA — A woman’s close encounter with a mountain lion was captured on video and posted to social media earlier this month in Ojai.
Cortney Rasura was hiking on the Gridley Trail when she recorded her run-in with the big cat.
“No, no, no — go away,” she tells the animal in the video, posted to Instagram, as it walks toward her.

Rasura also makes a roaring noise and continues to shout at the mountain lion, which eventually turns and scampers up a nearby cliff. At that point, Rasura can be heard saying, “Thank you.”
Rasura captioned the video, “No means no.”

The incident occurred on July 3, according to KTLA, which reported that, as an experienced hiker, Rasura knew not to run from the animal and maintained eye contact with it.
