Borderline Bar Announces New Venue One Year After Mass Shooting

AGOURA HILLS, CA — The owners of Borderline Bar & Grill, where a gunman opened fire last year killing 12 people, announced Thursday they are opening a new location in Agoura Hills.

The Agoura Hills bar will be called BL Dancehall & Saloon, and will feature a custom-built dance floor, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, a game room with pool tables, a patio with an outside bar, and a stage for live performances, the owners announced on Facebook.

On Thanksgiving, a day for reflecting on what to be grateful for, the owners announced they would be expanding with a new location. Just a year after the tragic mass shooting, Borderline staff are refusing to give up: they are rebuilding the Thousand Oaks location and expanding with a new Agoura Hills venue so the weekly country music dance nights will live on.

"From the owners of the Borderline Bar & Grill and the rest of the Borderline family, we would like to welcome you all to our NEW home away from home," the Borderline Bar & Grill staff wrote on Facebook. "While the construction and reopening process continues at 99 Rolling Oaks Dr. in Thousand Oaks, we have decided to open in a brand new beautiful venue in Agoura Hills owned and operated by the Borderline owners and staff to provide you all with a place we can all call home during the long rebuilding process of The Borderline Bar & Grill."

In the meantime, the Borderline crew will continue their Country Nights at The Canyon Club Agoura on Wednesdays as well as the Country Nights at The Canyon Club Santa Clarita on Thursdays.

The exact grand opening date of BL Dancehall & Saloon will be announced soon.
