Bronze Sculpture Pays Tribute to Early Motorcycle Racer

Fine artist Steve Posson unveils his latest work at World Class Motoring this weekend.

Renowned artist and sculptor Steve Posson unveiled his latest work during a special event at on Saturday. 

The piece, entitled “Flying Mile,” pays tribute to American Motocross Association's Motorcycle Hall of Fame racer Albert “Shrimp” Burns and his 1914 Indian 8-Valve. One of the top dirt and board track racers of the 1910s and early '20s, the diminutive Burns was the youngest champion of his era, winning his first titles at the age of 15.

Posson’s art is about lives in motion, celebrating people with their vehicles, according to his website. Prior to his focus on fine art, Posson designed prototype bodywork for Jeep, Volvo and Renault, as well as motorcycle design for Kawasaki, Yamaha and BMW, said the site.
