Brush Fire on 101 Near Rancho Road, 40 Acres Burned

The fire is not threatening any homes at the moment

Agoura Hills, CA — A brush fire on the shoulder of the 101 Freeway near Rancho Road burned 40 acres Monday with firefighters from multiple Southland agencies knocking it down, a fire official said.

The two-alarm fire was reported at around 11:30 a.m. Monday near Thousand Oaks, Ventura Fire Capt. Mike Lindberry said.

The fire did not threatened any homes and was fully contained by 1 p.m., Lindberry said. Ventura County Fire Department, the National Park Services Fire Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Cal-Fire all responded to the fire.

The blaze was seen on the freeway but the California Highway Patrol did not shut down the highway.
