Dramatic Story of Survival is the 2013 'One City, One Book' 2013 Selection
'Unbroken,' a World War II story of survival, resilience and redemption, by Laura Hillenbrand, is this year's selection.
The 2013 Agoura Hills' One City, One Book selection was announced by Mayor Denis Weber at Wednesday's city council meeting. It is Unbroken, the true tale of how a WWII lieutenant survives an ordeal after his plane crashes into the Pacific Ocean.
"I read the book about a year ago, and it effected me greatly," said Weber. "You can't believe anyone can go through something like this gentleman went through and come out [alive] to tell it."
