Guillermo del Toro Makes 'Monstrous' Entrance at Comi-Con
The Agoura Hills resident is promoting his latest sci-fi effort, 'Pacific Rim,' at the famed San Diego convention
Director Guillermo del Toro, an Agoura Hills resident, is attending the renowned Comi-Con convention in San Diego to promote his film Pacific Rim, in theaters July 2013, reports USA Today.
The film stars Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi as pilot robot warriors that battle gigantic monsters in the sci-fi action film.
As a boy growing up in Mexico, Guillermo del Toro designed his own monsters, right down to their detailed organs, del Toro said in the report.

As an adult filmmaker, not much has changed. "All of that came in pretty handy 40 years later in making this movie," del Toro told the newspaper.
The monsters of Pacific Rim join Twilight vampires, Walking Dead zombies and creatures from Lord of the Rings as featured stars at Comic-Con, which opened Wednesday, July 11.
