2. Malibu Arts Festival

The Malibu Arts Festival, produced by the Malibu Chamber of Commerce, promises to offer something for everyone. Celebrating its 41^th year, the two-day weekend event will take place July 28-29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in front of the Malibu Civic Center (23555 Civic Center Way, Malibu). The Optimist Club of Malibu will be serving a pancake breakfast at the site from 8 a.m. to 11 am.

3. 'Romeo and Juliet'

The ultimate romantic story is being presented at the The Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival through the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company, the professional theater company of California Lutheran University. General admission is $15 for adults and free for those under 18. Festival grounds open at 5:30 p.m. for pre-show picnicking and entertainment. 4. Movies on the Green: Michael Jackson's This Is It

Film begins at dusk at 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd in Woodland Hills. There will be pre-feature entertainment beginning at 7 p.m.
