Meet Your New City Attorney

Candice Lee is the new attorney for the City of Agoura Hills, replacing
Craig Steele who served in the position for the past 13 years.

Lee has extensive experience with a variety of public law issues, including land use planning, development impact fees, public works, the Brown Act, the Public Records Act, the Subdivision Map Act, and CEQA, Mayor John Edelston wrote in an email to Agoura Hills Patch.

She also advises municipal clients on environmental compliance matters relating to the Clean Water Act, specifically NPDES and TMDL issues, he said.

"On behalf of City staff and the City Council I want to welcome Candice to her new position," Edelston said.

Lee is a shareholder in the Public Agency and Municipal Law Department at Richards, Watson & Gershon in Los Angeles.

"I am thrilled to be taking this position," said Lee. "I feel priviledged that the city council has given me the opportunity to serve the city."

Lee was a summer associate at RW&G in 2002, and joined RW&G as an associate in 2003.

Lee obtained her law degree from the UC Davis School of Law, where she served as Senior Notes and Comments Editor of the UC Davis Law Review. During law school, she was a teaching assistant in the Legal Writing program at the UC Davis School of Law and the Asian American Studies Department at UC Davis, and participated in the King Hall Pro Bono Program. She served as an extern for the Honorable Harry Pregerson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 2001.
