Olympian, WWII POW Louis Zamperini to Discuss Dramatic Survival Story
In May 1943, the B-24 carrying Louis Zamperini went down over the Pacific. He survived for nearly seven weeks with his pilot on a raft.

Inspirational speaker Louis Zamperini will come to Agoura Hills for a two presentations of his journey of endurance, survival and redemption.
Zamperini, 96, a former Olympian and WWII POW, will speak At 1:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. April 10 at the Regency Theater, 29045 Agoura Road in Agoura Hills.
The event is free, but seating is limited to the first 400 people, according to Donna Conlin, the city's recreation manager. The city added a second presentation due to high demand.

"We have been flooded with calls. We want to make sure our residents are able to see him," Conlin said. "We feel very blessed and honored he is coming out here."
Zamperini, who grew up in Torrance and currently lives in Los Angeles, is the subject of the bestselling book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, who is the author of Seabiscuit.

Tickets will be available on a first come first serve basis starting at 12:30 p.m. the day of the event.
The discussion is part of the One City, One Book national literacy program and is sponsored by City of Agoura Hills, Friends of the Library and the Agoura Hills Cultural Arts Council.
