District 3 Likely Headed To Runoff: Agoura Hills Election 2022

The polls are closed in Agoura Hills, and voters have had their say on the city council race as many county-wide races.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — The polls are closed in Agoura Hills, and voters will soon know whether there will be runoff races for the mayor of Los Angeles as well as the position of Los Angeles County sheriff. (Scroll for real-time results below.)

Agoura Hills voters weighed in on a number of Los Angeles County positions, including Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and Los Angeles County Sheriff. Statewide, California voters will cast their initial votes for California governor. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 3, directly represents Calabasas residents.

Early results on Tuesday showed a close race between Bob Hertzberg, Lindsey Horvath and Henry Stern, with Hertzberg leading the pack with 35.7 percent of the votes. Lindsey Horvath trailed closely behind with 26 percent of the votes. Stern trails behind with 22.56 percent of the vote. This position will likely move to a runoff given candidates were unlikely to pull more than 50 percent of the vote after initial tallies Tuesday.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva's bid for a second term will move to a November runoff election against former Long Beach police Chief Robert Luna, with the pair jumping to distant leads Tuesday evening according to early ballot results.

Gov. Gavin Newsom will proceed to the Nov. 8 general election against Republican state Senator Brian Dahle, according to the Los Angeles Times.

For all the county and statewide positions, the two candidates with the most votes on Tuesday will move forward to the Nov. 8 general election.

Agoura Hills had 15,120 registered voters as of May 23, according to Los Angeles County. Of the city's registered voters, 45.03 percent were registered as Democrats, 26.75 percent as Republicans and 21.78 percent noted no party preference, according to Los Angeles County data.

The six candidates for Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 3 are:
