Recipe: Hugo's Apple Pie Martini aka 'Rosh Hashanah Cocktail'

In honor of the upcoming holiday, Hugo's Restaurant has graciously shared this mouthwatering cocktail recipe with us.

, , has received many calls for this seasonal recipe and, because it's so popular, wanted to share it with Patch readers.

The Apple Pie Martini celebrates National Apple Month and National Honey Month and for those who celebrate the Jewish New Year, apples dipped in honey are traditional for a sweet new year, according to Leslie Brenner, one of Hugo's owners.

1/2 oz honey

1/2 oz simple syrup

1/2 oz lemon juice

1/2 tea spoon Saigon cinnamon

1 scoop ice

In a 20oz Martini shaker, muddle the grapes, add all ingredients and shake well.

Double strain into a martini glass: using the bar strainer pour liquid through a tea strainer (there should be no grape pieces and minimal cinnamon residue in martini glass). Garnish with a thin apple wheel floating in the glass.
