Summer Swim Lesson Slots Still Available At Triunfo YMCA

Parents, there's still have time to sign up your children for summer swim lessons through the Triunfo YMCA. All swim programs take place at the pool (28545 W. Driver Ave.).

Swim lessons run through August 10 in two-week sessions. Group lessons are Monday through Thursday (total of eight, 30-minute classes). Fees are $105. Private lessons are four, one-on-one 30-minute classes for $150.

"The Triunfo Y's aquatics program is perfect for first-time swimmers through experienced swimmers looking compete," says Jenna Grossman, the Triunfo Y's program director. "Participants learn from our certified swim instructors."

Parent/tot classes are for children under three years old and a parent with the focus to get children acclimated to the water and to have fun.

The Triunfo YMCA is also signing up members for its Otters swim team. Team members, 6 to 14 years of age, work on perfecting their stroke techniques, building endurance and striving to reach their personal best. All participants must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle, 25 yards of backstroke and 25 yards of breaststroke. Participants may compete in summer swim meets with other local YMCAs.
