Vigil To Commemorate 2 Year Anniversary Of Iskander Boys' Death
A vigil was scheduled for Thursday to mark the deaths of Mark and Jacob Iskander, who were struck and killed two years ago.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — A vigil was scheduled for Thursday to commemorate the the deaths of Mark, 11, and Jacob, 8, Iskander, who were struck and killed by a car two years ago.
The Iskander brothers were fatally struck by a car in Westlake Village on Sept. 29, 2020. The two were crossing Triunfo Canyon Road at Saddle Mountain Drive when they were hit, according to The Acorn.
Hidden Hills woman Rebecca Grossman was charged in 2020 with two felony counts each of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, and she now faces 34 years to life in prison related to the boys' death, ABC7 reported.

A vigil was scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Three Springs Park, 3000 Three Springs Drive in Westlake Village. Attendees were encouraged to RSVP at this website and to wear white or light colors.
Attendees were also encouraged to bring their own chairs and water, but not to bring candles.

"Three Springs Park has special meaning to the Iskander family, as it is Mark and Jacob's neighborhood playground," organizers said on the vigil's flyer.
Organizers asked that people do not gather at the crash site.
Mark Iskander was gifted in math and science and had a passion for reptiles and ice hockey, according to The Mark and Jacob Iskander Foundation, which works to support impoverished youth, foster children and orphans in Egypt.
"He had an unmatched sense of humor and shared his charisma with his brother, Jacob," according to the foundation's website.
Jacob Iskander was an adventurous and excited boy who loved to run track to show off his speed. Jacob was a great friend with an "infectious smile."
"Mark and Jacob lit up every room they entered with their kindness, humor, and faith. Their vibrancy was recognized by everyone they met, their warmth felt in every place they entered, and their memory inspires all those who carry them in their heart," the foundation's website reads.
