ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda firefighters conducted their annual Wildland Fire refresher training last week.

Firefighters reviewed equipment, tactics, and procedures used to battle vegetation fires.

The Alameda Fire Department is a member of the California Mutual Aid system and local firefighters regularly deploy to fight major wildfires.

The program is operated through the California Office of Emergency Services.

"AFD has the capability to deploy engines, water tenders, an OES engine, and single resource personnel to assist our neighbors throughout the state in a time of need," the department said.
