Albany Residents Band Together to Fight Against New Trump Administration Agenda
Albany residents form the Albany Democratic Club to better organize and mobilize.
Disappointed by the recent national election and wanting to take action, Albany residents gathered on January 24, 2017 at University Village for the first Albany Democratic Club meeting. Residents from University Village, as well as throughout Albany, banded together for an evening of political discussion and action.
Robin Torello from the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee and Albany Vice Mayor Nick Pilch were the featured speakers for the evening. Torello spoke of projects and actions that the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee is taking on to fight the new Trump administration, as well as ways that the small city of Albany can have its voice heard. Vice Mayor Pilch spoke of ways that Albany residents can become more involved in local politics, as well as ways that the Albany City Council is dealing with the new Trump administration.
“I am so excited to see the Democrats in Albany unite,” said Jennifer Radics-Johnson, founder and President of the Albany Democratic Club. “We are proud to offer a new venue for Democrats living in the Albany area to participate in local, state and national politics.”
