Albany Troop 14 to Host Climbing Wall at Solano Ave. Stroll

Albany Boy Scout Troop 14 to Host Community Climbing Wall at 44th Annual Solano Avenue Stroll

For the eighth year, Albany Boy Scout Troop 14 will participating in the Annual Solano Avenue Stroll event with a climbing wall, which has been hugely popular for the youth, and no doubt has contributed to the growth of membership in both the Albany Cub and Boy Scouting programs. Each year 300-400 youth get to climb for free, and thousands of kids and adults are exposed to the fun of Scouting.

The rental cost of this climbing structure is $955. In addition, the project requires $300 for the space and the parade plus $150 in printing costs, all of which is more than the Troop can handle on its own. Troop 14 has a goal to raise $1,000.00 from community-minded businesses and donors, with the remaining money coming from Troop funds and parent donations.

Past sponsors of this Climbing Wall experience include Bridges Climbing Gym, Jarvis Architects, Mechanics Bank, Albany Rotary, Albany Ford Subaru, Albany Lions Club, Allstate Insurance, Full Orbit Web and Marketing, among others. Climbing Wall Sponsors are recognized with their logo on a large poster at the booth.
