Volunteers who'd like to help clear Cerrito Creek at Albany Hill of invasive plants and trash are <a href="https://albany.patch.com/groups/events/p/help-cerrito-creek-at-albany-hill_22a8a00b" rel="nofollow">invited to join the Friends of Five Creeks</a> at 10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 24) for a work party and a chance to learn about the history of the important creek. No RSVP required. Just show up at Creekside Park on the El Cerrito side of the creek in closed-toe shoes with good traction. Long pants and sleeves are recommended. "Light and heavy work for all -- all ages welcome!" says the event announcment. "Young children can enjoy the play structure or splash in the creek. Tools, gloves, snacks, water, and good company provided."
