East Bay Shooting Into Unoccupied Car Probed
Authorities are asking community members to check their home security cameras for suspicious activity.
EL CERRITO, CA — Authorities are asking for the public’s help investigating a shooting into an unoccupied car on Sunday, the El Cerrito Police Department said.
No injuries were reported, according to police.
At around noon on Sunday, a person in a silver Jeep Cherokee stopped in front of a residence in the 100 block of Carmel Avenue and fired a gun into an unoccupied parked car, police said.

The suspect vehicle fled the area, driving northbound on Carmel Avenue, toward Lynn Avenue, according to police.
Detectives assigned to this case are asking community members to check their home security cameras for suspicious activity.
