Police Calls: 1 Vehicle Stolen, 1 Recovered; Teens Throwing Darts

The Albany police logs for July 15-16 include a stolen vehicle, a recovered stolen truck, three teens throwing darts on Albany Hill, a woman with a stroller warned against taking recycling and a troublesome man with a table leg strapped to his chest.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Monday, July 15

Vehicle-vs.-bus accident – At 4:07 p.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident involving a vehicle and bus northbound on San Pablo Avenue at Washington. Disposition: Assistance given to outside agency.

Recycling warning to woman with stroller – At 7:37 p.m., police logged a report of a woman pushing a baby stroller on the hundred block of San Carlos, apparently going through recycling. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Identity theft – At 7:4p p.m., a person in the police lobby told police that an unknown person tried to open an account in the reporting party's name. The reporting party was advised to file a police report. Disposition: Case report taken.

3 teens throwing darts on Albany Hill – At 8:25 p.m., police received a report of three teens throwing darts at a dartboard they nailed to a tree on Albany Hill near the dead end of Taft. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.
 
Tuesday, July 16

Locked out, pot on stove – At 8:33 a.m., police received a distress call from a female on Jackson who was locked out of a house with a pot on the stove. Disposition: Situation corrected by APD.

Man with table leg strapped to chest refuses to leave – At 9:15 a.m., police received a report that a man in his 30s with a table leg strapped to his chest keeps coming into CosmoProf on San Pablo and refuses to leave. Disposition: Case report taken.

Vehicle stolen – At 9:49 a.m., police received a report of car taken, possibly Sunday night, at Eunice Gourmet Cafe on Solano. Disposition: Case report taken.

Car keyed – At 10:16 a.m., police received a report of a car that was keyed on Madison. The reporting party needs a report for insurance purposes. Disposition: Case report taken.

Vehicle burglary – At 12:23 p.m., a person in the police lobby reported noticing the car door was ajar at Round Table Pizza on San Pablo 15 minutes ago and that at home the wife noticed her property was missing from the trunk. Disposition: Case report taken.

Identify theft – At 12:43 p.m., police received a report of identity theft related to Sutter Health breach of patient personal information. Disposition: Case report taken. (Editor's note: Patch published an article on July 11 about the leak of patient information from Alta Bates and two other Sutter Health hospitals.)

Man arguing on cell phone – At 2:06 p.m., police logged a report of officer-initiated activity in Sam's Log Cabin on San Pablo, where an elderly man could be heard arguing with someone on his cell phone, saying he sent something to someone and hasn't received anything in return. Disposition: Case report taken.

Recovered stolen truck – At 3:25 p.m., a person told police that he found his friend's stolen truck unoccupied on Jackson. The truck was stolen June 26 on Portland. Disposition: Case report taken.

Hit and run – At 4:36 p.m., a person reported being hit about 5-7 minutes ago in a hit-and-run collision by a wide black motorcycle that was "more like a street bike" ridden by a dark-skinned, heavy-set Hispanic male in a black hoodie last seen going east on Solano. Disposition: Case report taken.

Bike found in backyard – At 7:19 p.m., police received a report that a bicycle was found in a resident's backyard on Talbot. Disposition: Case report taken.

Woman screaming outside Target – At 8:38 p.m., police received a report of a woman transient in a green dress screaming outside Target. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Loud juveniles – At 10:06 p.m., police received a complaint regarding about a dozen juveniles in Terrace Park being loud near the playground. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.
