Police Calls: 2 Home Burglaries, Including 1 Interrupted
The Albany police logs for July 17-18 includes two home burglaries, one on Thousand Oaks and one on Stannage where the burglar was interrupted, more graffiti cases and another person warned about going through recycling bins.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.
Wednesday, July 17
Recalcitrant panhandler – At 10:46 a.m., police received a report of a female panhandler in her late 50s who refused to leave the Am/Pm on San Pablo. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.
Home burglary interrupted – At 11:04 a.m., police received a report of a home burglary that was just interrupted on Stannage. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a moustache, wearing a beige hat and jacket, reddish shirt and khaki pants, last seen leaving in the passenger seat of lavender Camry heading toward San Pablo Ave. Disposition: Log note only.
Vehicle spray-painted – At 2:25 p.m., police logged a report of a vehicle spray-painted last week on Solano between Jackson and Cerrito, with a streak of paint down the passenger side. Disposition: Case report taken.
Man going through recycling bins – At 2:36 p.m., police logged a report of a heavy-set man in his 20s going through recycling bins at Victory Apartments on Solano. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.
Non-injury accident – At 9:12 p.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident at Brighton and San Pablo near Goodwill involving a Nissan and a Volkswagon. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.
Found wallet – At 9:23 p.m., a person brought into the police lobby a wallet found at Albany Hill Mini Mart on San Pablo. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.
Thursday, July 18
Graffiti on wall – At 8:18 a.m., police received a report of graffiti on a wall at Castro and Jackson. Disposition: Case report taken.
Home burglary – At 10:37 a.m., police received a report of a home burglary between 8 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, July 17, on Thousand Oaks. Access was gained through a bedroom window, and a computer, a credit card and other miscellaneous items were taken. Disposition: Case report taken.
Lost property – At 3:16 p.m., police received a report of a tenant who lost a Brazilian ID and driver's license, Clipper Card and $40 cash at the laundromat at San Pablo and Washington. Disposition: Log note only.
Calculator shoplifted at Target – At 5:03 p.m., police received a report that at a calculator was taken at Target. The suspect was described as a black male, 35 years old, wearing a long-sleeve green t-shirt and blue jeans. Disposition: Case report taken.
Non-injury accident – At 5:23 p.m., police received a report of non-injury accident involving a Honda Accord blocking a lane on Portland at Memorial Park. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.
Noisy teens on mopeds – At 9 p.m., police received a report of teenagers on mopeds without helmets going up and down San Gabriel making noise. They were associated with a white truck. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.
Odd, threatening behavior – At 9:54 p.m., police received a report of a man in his early 40s at Safeway saying someone stole his bike, acting crazy and threatening people inside the store. He was last seen heading east on Solano. Disposition: Case report taken.
