Police Calls: 3 ID Thefts & 3 Car Break-ins in 2 Days, Naked Man Rings Doorbell
The Albany police logs for Sept. 18-19 include three cases of identity theft, three auto break-ins (including one with the loss being chocolate eaten by the prowler), a deer with antlers running down Cornell and a reckless flag-waving bicycllist.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.
Wednesday, Sept. 18
Sleepers at Waterfront Park warned – At 3:11 a.m., police logged a report of officer-initiated contact of sleepers at Waterfront Park. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.
Two transients arrested – At 3:39 a.m., police arrested a two transients at Cerrito Creek and I-580. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of giving false identification to police, and a 32-year-old female was arrested on illegal possession of a controlled substance and resisting a police officer.
Auto burglary – At 6:35 a.m., police received a report of a cold auto burglary of vehicle parked in a carport on Kains. The reporting party also noticed a second vehicle parked two stalls down. Disposition: Case report taken.
Auto burglary – At 7:04 a.m., police received a report of a cold auto burglary on Kains. Disposition: Case report taken.
Identity theft – At 10:03 a.m., police logged a report of identity theft filed by a person in the police lobby. Disposition: Case report taken.
Hit and run with damage – At 10:47 a.m., police received a report of cold hit and run with damage that happened sometime this morning to a parked vehicle at Kains and Brighton. Disposition: Follow-up complete.
Arrest on resisting police and fleeing with reckless disregard – At 12:15 p.m., police arrested a 36-year-old San Pablo man at 1000 San Pablo Avenue on suspicion of resisting a police officer and fleeing police while driving with reckless disregard for the safety of others.
Driver's license stolen at Albany Pool – At 2:07 p.m., police received a report of a driver's license stolen from a gym bag in a locker at Albany Pool. There was no suspect information. Disposition: Log note only.
Identity theft – At 3:12 p.m., police logged a report of identity theft involving two credit cards opened using the reporting party's Social Security number and address and $1,200 charged to two accounts at U.S. Bank. Disposition: Case report taken.
Reckless flag-waving bicyclist – At 3:24 p.m., police received a report of a man 40 years old on a bike waving an American flag around and riding recklessly into traffic on Buchanan at the Buchanan Interchange. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K.
Hit and run, invalid info on note left – At 8:23 p.m., police received a report of a hit and run with damage on San Pablo last night. The driver left a note with invalid information. A witness left a note with the plate. It was a dark gray Nissan Pathfinder. Disposition: Case report taken.
Deer with antlers running on Cornell – At 11 p.m., police received a report of a deer with antlers running down Cornell near Dartmouth. Disposition: Log note only.
Thursday, Sept. 19
Naked man ringing doorbell – At 12:22 a.m., police logged a report of a naked man in his 30s with a flashlight ringing the doorbell at Building 168 on Ohlone. Disposition: Assistance given to outside agency.
Vehicle vandalism – At 9:27 a.m., a person in the police lobby reported that someone punctured the inner sidewall of a tire on his vehicle on San Pablo between late night of June 26 and early morning hours of June 26. The reporting party thinks his neighbor might be responsible but is unsure. The reporting party reported it because he wants a record of the incident. Disposition: Log note only.
Vehicle entered, chocolate eaten – At 2:50 p.m., police received a report that someone entered an unlocked vehicle on Ordway between 7 p.m. last night and 6 a.m. today. Nothing was taken, except that the prowler ate some chocolate that was left inside the vehicle. The reporting asked that the incident be document and requested extra patrol in the area when possible. Disposition: Log note only.
Identity theft – At 4:06 p.m., a person in the police lobby reported that an unknown person attempted to purchase airline tickets over the Internet using the victim's credit card. Disposition: Case report taken.
Non-injury accident – At 9:21 p.m., police received a report of non-injury accident involving a silver BMW and Dodge pickup at San Pablo and Marin. Disposition: Log note only.
