Police Calls: July 4 Loud Music & Fireworks, Trouble at Albany Bowl
The Albany police log for July 4-5 includes complaints of loud music and illegal fireworks on the Fourth of July, an altercation at Albany Bowl, a man thrashing on the ground at the BART path, harassment and theft at Albany Bulb and three arrests.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.
Thursday, July 4
Altercation at Albany Bowl – At 12:45 a.m., police received a report of a verbal altercation between two groups at Albany Bowl. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.
Non-stop sprinklers flooding front of residence – At 11:21 a.m., police received a report of the front of a residence on Key Route at the Ohlone Greenway starting to flood from a sprinkler system that hasn't turned off for two days. Disposition: Log note only.
Shirtless, tattooed man thrashing in bushes – At 12:56 p.m., police received a report of a man with no shirt and lots of tattoos lying in bushes along the bike trail at Marin and Masonic and thrashing around. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K.
Loud block party on Ordway – At 1:37 p.m., police received a complaint of a loud block party with amplified music in the hundred block of Ordway. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.
More loud music on Ordway – At 5:34 p.m., police received a complaint of excessively loud music in the hundred block of Ordway. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.
Liquor theft at Safeway – At 5:45 p.m., police received a report of liquor stolen at Safeway. The suspect was described as Hispanic 18-25 years old, 5-feet 7-inches tall, 135-145 pounds, wearing black jeans, a gray sweater and a dark backpack with green, last seen on Curtis heading toward Marin. Disposition: No police action warranted at this time.
Kidnapping report – At 5:59 p.m., a reporting party told police that the reporting party's friend told the reporting party that another friend had been kidnapped. Disposition: No police action warranted at this time.
Theft, harassment at Albany Bulb – At 7 p.m., a person in the police lobby reported that someone has been harassing her and stealing items at the Albany Bulb. Disposition: Case report taken.
Fireworks in residential area – At 9:52 p.m., police received a report of fireworks going off in a residential area on Cornell. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint. (Editor's note: The log includes several complaints about fireworks the same night, the Fourth of July.)
Friday, July 5
DUI arrest – At 12:53 a.m. police stopped a Richmond female at San Pablo and Solano and arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Drunk/disorderly arrest – At 3:10 a.m., police stopped a bicyclist at Albany Ford/Subaru and placed an Albany female under arrest on suspicion of being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way.
3 small dogs chasing people – At 2:16 p.m., police received a report that a front door on Stannage has been open all morning and that three small small dogs have been chasing people around. The reporting party was to get the dogs inside and has keys that had been left in the door. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.
Found backpack – At 8:51 p.m., police received a report of a large backpack found on the BART path on Masonic. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.
Graffiti arrest at AHS – Police arrested a Richmond male at Albany High on suspicion of defacing with graffiti or other inscribed material. (The time was not listed.)
