Police Calls: Stolen Auto, Park Graffiti, Dog Injures Dog, Child Finds 911

The Albany police log for May 18-19 includes a car stolen on Curtis, two non-injury accidents, an altercation between a male juvenile and female juvenile, attempted theft at Target, and a dog injured by another dog at the beach.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Saturday, May 18

Auto theft 
– At 10:50 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle theft sometime during night before 7:30 this morning on Curtis. Disposition: Case report taken.

Non-injury accident – At 11:25 a.m., police logged a second-hand report of a non-injury accident involving two vehicles blocking the roadway at Marin and Tulare. Disposition: Assistance given to outside agency. 

Male/female juveniles in fight – At 7:19 p.m., police received a report of a male juvenile and a female juvenile involved in a physical altercation on Evelyn. The female was on the ground. There were departing toward the recycling hut in El Cerrito Plaza. Another female, possibly a mother/daughter, was in the area. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Sunday, May 19

Loud party – At 1:14 a.m., police logged a complaint about a party on Pierce that was generating complaints even after being admonished by security. Disposition: Situation corrected by APD.

Graffiti at Terrace Park – At 8:33 a.m., police received a report of fresh graffiti on a bathroom door at Terrace Park. Disposition: Log note only.

Dog injured by another dog at beach – At 12:40 p.m., police received a report a citizen's dog being injured by another dog at the beach at Golden Gate Fields today. Disposition: Log note only.

Non-injury accident – At 1:26 p.m., police logged a non-injury vehicle accident on Ramona. Disposition: Log note only.

Youngster on 911 – At 3:02 p.m., police received a 911 call on which they could hear a "young child happily telling mom she had got someone on the phone." Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Lost keys – At 3:31 p.m., police received a report of four keys – one car key and three house keys – on a key ring lost at Solano and Jackson. Disposition: Log note only.

Theft attempt at Target – At 4:22 p.m., police received a report of a person attempting to steal women's clothing and being stopped by security. The alleged thief fled the store and was last seen heading toward Buchanan in an older vehicle, possibly an Acura. Disposition: Log note only.

Reckless driving – At 5:01 p.m., police received a complaint about drag racing down Madison. The reporting party requested an officer response. Disposition: Log note only.

Glass on street – At 5:08 p.m., police received a report of a large amount of glass in the middle of the street for about 200 yards at Taylor and Buchanan. Disposition: Log note only.
