Raymond Anderson Plea Deal – 5 Years Probation, Sex Offender Registration
Raymond Anderson of Albany pleaded no contest this week to one count of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor under 14 in exchange for five years felony probation, authorities said. He must register as a sex offender.

Raymond Anderson of Albany, who was facing trial for alleged lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor under 14, has pleaded no contest in a plea deal that includes five years felony probation and being listed as a registered sex offender, according to the Alameda County District Attorney's office.
The agreement, entered by Anderson at a hearing in Alameda County Superior Court Wednesday, was approved by Judge Vern Nakahara, according to Deputy District Attorney Edward Viera-Ducey, the prosecutor in the case.
The plea bargain is conditional on Anderson satisfactory completion of a probation report and is scheduled for final confirmation and sentencing at a 9:30 a.m. hearing on Oct. 3 in Dept. 8 in Superior Court, Viera-Ducey said. Victims and members of the community are able to speak at that time, he said.
Anderson was arrested and charged earlier last year with six counts of molestation related to twin girls who lived with him in the 1990s. More details about the case can be found in previous articles on Albany Patch.
In the addition to the five years probation and registration as a sex offender, Anderson must pay court fines and fees and receive sex offender counseling, Viera-Ducey said. He would also receive credit for the 379 days he was in custody, Viera-Ducey said.
If any unexpected, relevant circumstances are uncovered before the formal sentencing that could alter the bargain, Anderson could withdrew from it and face trial, the prosecutor said.
If the deal is approved as expected, and if Anderson were to violate the conditions, he could be subject up to eight years in prison, Viera-Ducey said.
