Community Corner
Now on Patch: New Boards and a New Design
We're revamped Patch with a new look and new tools to make it easier to share information, opinions, photos or video.

Welcome to the new Patch.
I’m Charles Burress, editor of Albany Patch, and I'd like to introduce you to our new design and easy-to-use features.
We’ve tried to make the site more reflective of Albany. The news layout has a new look, and it’s easier to leave comments on articles too.
It’s also easier to share your photos, video, opinions, information and expertise. For instance, right below the news on the homepage you’ll see blogs, a showcase for community voices.
It's much easier to start a blog yourself – any time, about anything. We take the expanded view of what “blog” means. You can post often, occasionally or once in lifetime.
Speaking of reader voices, be sure to explore the new Patch Boards. Think of them as virtual bulletin boards, where you can post information and views in various categories. We’re starting with four boards:
- Speak Out/Opinion – A place to have your say about anything, from politics to potholes.
- Announcements/Around Town – Post anything you want -- lost cats and dogs, school plays, wedding announcements, or a photo of that gorgeous sunset.
- Business Updates – Business owners: This board’s for you. Post your news, sales, deals, openings or musings here.
- Buy | Sell | Trade – Find a good home for what you don’t need, discover something you do.
There are other changes in the new Patch too. We hope you’ll explore and enjoy them. And we hope you’ll let us know what you think. You can tell us in the new “Speak Out” board or through the Feedback form on the right side of the screen.
We look forward to hearing from you.
