The Richmond Police Department said early findings show Reyna was alone while loading packages into a cargo trailer when several of them fell onto her.

"As someone as young as her no one thinks on the imaginable and prepares for any of this. She was such an amazing person and had such a beautiful soul," said her niece, Esmeralda Padilla, on a GoFundMe account set up to help with funeral services and on behalf of Reyna's five children.

"She was always such a positive person and made our days even better. But sadly she also left 5 beautiful children behind."

In a statement, a UPS representative wrote, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our team members. Our thoughts are with their family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. We are cooperating fully with the authorities to understand what happened and defer additional questions to them.”

Cal/OSHA is investigating the incident. While the investigation is ongoing, no additional details are available, a spokeswoman said.
