Victorian Homes Add Grace To Central Alameda: Photo Of The Day
Do you have a favorite on this block?

ALAMEDA, CA — Geoff Geiger shared a photo that he took early this month in Central Alameda. The island is a treat for those who favor vintage homes.
If you who appreciate old things, here is a vintage poem by Karle Wilson Baker. Credit: All Poetry website for the quick reference.
Let Me Grow Lovely
Let me grow lovely, growing old—
So many fine things do:
Laces, and ivory, and gold,
And silks need not be new;
And there is healing in old trees,
Old streets a glamour hold;
Why may not I, as well as these,
Grow lovely, growing old?
Thank you for sharing your photo with Patch readers, Geoff.
