OC Teacher Arrested On Suspicion Of Making Criminal Threats: Report

Police were dispatched to Aliso Viejo High School on Wednesday after receiving reports that a substitute teacher made criminal threats.

ALISO VIEJO, CA — A substitute teacher was arrested in Orange County on Wednesday on suspicion of making criminal threats at a high school while teaching, authorities said.

Officials said James Setterholm, 69, made threatening statements while teaching at Aliso Viejo High School that were "enough to cause concern," Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Todd Hylton told the Orange County Register.

Amid the ongoing investigation, the details of the threats will not immediately be made public, he said.

Deputies were sent to the campus on the 28000 block of Wolverine Way around 12:20 p.m., according to Aliso Viejo Police Services.

"The school is safe and there is no danger to the students. School has resumed with normal operations," police wrote on Facebook.

Setterholm was arrested without incident, Hylton said.
