Update: Several neighbors in the area said that there was a house party in the area Saturday night, and that the shooting may have happened at or outside the party.
Robert Hilton, who has lived in the area for 35 years, said he heard two shots a little after the party was winding down.
He said that he didn't hear a lot of panic or commotion afterwards, and didn't think anybody had been hit.
Another neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, said people were yelling and running around. He said he heard three shots and heard somebody yelling that a family member of theirs had been shot. He said police put up barriers and locked down the block shortly after.
Both described the block as being usually very quiet and calm.
Update: Officials from the county coroner's office anticipate they will be unable to release the identity of the victim before Monday because they are still notifying next of kin.
