Name of Altadena Burned Body Victim Released

The man who was burned body was found on the side of the road on April 15 has been identified as Emmitt Zinn.

The man whose burned body was found on April 15 in Altadena has been identified as Emmitt Zinn, according to Lt. Fred Corral of the County Coroner's Department.

Zinn was 70 years old at the time of his death and the Coroner's Department still does not have a city of residence listed for him, Corral said.

It is likely that Zinn was homeless, Corral said.

Zinn's body was found in the early hours of Sunday April 15 on the side of the road in the 2600 block of Windsor Avenue.  Media reports have stated that his ankles and a wrist were bound, but the Coroner's Department has not confirmed that to Patch.

His cause of death has not been identified: investigators do not know whether his body was burned after he was killed or not.  The department is conducting a series of tests to attempt to figure out the cause of death: .
