Imprisoned Altadena Doctor Stripped of Medical License
A doctor in federal prison for peddling prescription drugs has officially been suspended by the state's medical board.

According to a Los Angeles Times article, an Altadena doctor convicted of drug distribution in 2008 has been stripped of her medical license by the state medical board.
Dr. Monique B. Williams, 44, pleaded guilty in 2008 to federal drug charges. According to the Times, Prosecutors in the case had accused her of a variety of violations, including writing unnecessary Vicodin prescriptions and trading Viagra for cocaine.
Williams originally came under Drug Enforcement Administration scrutiny in 2005 after an anonymous tip, and undercover DEA agents bought various prescription drugs from Williams in 2006 and 2007, the article states.
