Local Conservancy has May 31 Deadline to Purchase Foothill Land

The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy, which has several projects in Altadena, is currently looking for help to establish a nature preserve above Montrose-La Crescenta.

The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy, a group with local ties that began as the Altadena Foothills Conservancy, has a May 31 deadline to buy land for a nature preserve above Montrose.

As , the conservancy wants to buy 7.5 acres at the top ofRosemont Avenue, in the city at the mouth of Goss Canyon to turn into a wildlife preservation and a hiking destination (full disclosure: I volunteer as a docent with the group).

The group sent out an email Friday asking for support and noting that all donations would be matched at three times the level of the donation by other contributors.  Donations can be at www.arroyosfoothills.org/rosemont.  The conservancy wrote Friday that it is currently short $13,796.
