Loma Alta Park To Turn Into Winter Wonderland

Altadena children will also get a chance to visit Santa Claus during the Parks After Dark event at Loma Alta Park.

ALTADENA, CA — Altadena is about to get some snowfall later this month — sort of.

Loma Alta Park will get 40 tons of snow on Dec. 11 as part of Los Angeles County's Parks After Dark program.

The program aims to bring a "winter wonderland to a park near your," parks officials said.

A snow play area, sledding and a visit with Santa Claus will be a part of the free program.

Parks After Dark at Loma Alta Park will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
