Man Shot in Altadena Monday Night

A man was shot in the back in the 2100 block of Marengo Avenue on Monday evening, according to Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was brought to the hospital following the shooting and a possible suspect dressed in all-black clothing was spotted running down Marengo following the incident, which took place around 10 p.m., Shepherd said.

Shepherd said she did not know whether the shooting was gang related or not.

The , which happened a week earlier on Monday May 21, was described by detectives as gang-related, and a likely retaliation for a previous shooting.
