Trial of Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend to Start Thursday

Jury selection is scheduled to begin in the murder trial of Isaac Campbell.

The trial of a San Gabriel Valley man accused of killing his girlfriend, stuffing her body in a trashcan and hiding it in the garage of a friend's home, is expected to commence Thursday.

Lawyers in the case of Isaac Campbell will appear Tuesday at the Alhambra Superior Courthouse to iron out details surrounding the type of evidence they will have permission to present in court during trial.

Jury selection is expected to begin Thursday.

is charged with the August 2007 murder of 31-year-old Liya "Jessie" Lu, whose body was discovered at a house on the 1700 block of South Baldwin Ave. a month or so after her death.

Shortly after the body's discovery, authorities arrested Campbell in Minnesota and extradited him back to California. The couple met as nursing students at Pasadena City College.
