Baldwin Park Farmer's Market Celebrates 7th Anniversary
The celebration will include a demonstration of healthy cooking for families, live country and western music and health education information.
Kaiser Permanente Hospital in conjunction with Cal Poly Pomona will be celebrating the 7th anniversary of their farmer's market this Friday with music, food and a demonstration of healthy cooking for families.
The celebration will include include line dancing to live country and western music, health education information, and a demonstration to help individuals learn how to prepare healthier snacks and meals using fruits and vegetables of the season.
“It’s been seven years since we launched the market with Cal Poly and it has proven to be a remarkable success,” says Maggie Pierce, executive director, Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center.

Pierce said all proceeds of the farmer's market goes directly to support Cal Poly's agricultural programs.
"We have been not able only to support the school, but we are also contributing to the health of our members, staff, and community by offering a local venue to purchase healthier food options."
The market was established between the two organizations in an effort to promote healthy eating by making locally-grown produce more readily available to the local community.
The anniversary event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the medical center's cafeteria patio, 1011 Baldwin Park Blvd.
The Farmer's Market is regularly held every other Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and is open to the community.

The market will begin at that time but the special activities will start at noon.
Kaiser Permanente has been in local schools and offering .
Attendees will also have the chance to win food baskets and gift certificates.
