Baldwin Park Soccer Player Signs With California Golden Bears
The California Golden Bears announced that Luis Fuentes, an NSCAA All-America forward, signed a national letter of Intent to join the men's soccer team next fall.

According to the official Web site of the California Golden Bears, Luis Fuentes, a Baldwin Park soccer player will be a junior in the 2012 season after signing a national letter of intent.Â
A letter of intent indicates an athlete's commitment to participate in a NCAA college or university sports program in the United States.
Fuentes, a former student, was a fundamental player for the Mt. San Antonio College soccer team, which has won two championships in three years, according to the Cal Bear Web site.

"Luis has been so impressive on many fronts," Golden Bear Head Coach Kevin Grimes is quoted as saying. "He comes from a wonderful family, he is a very good student and he is obviously an excellent player. Luis is the perfect fit for Cal and our team culture."
The California Golden Bears Soccer team is part of the 29 varsity athletic programs and various club teams of the University of California in Berkeley.Â

This university competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I as a member of the Pacific 12 conference.
Fuentes was selected recently in the second-team D3 All-America selection, according to an ESPN blog.
