Couple Arrested During Police Pursuit Pleaded Not Guilty

They had an Preliminary Hearing Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court at West Covina.

The after a brief Police Pursuit in the city of Baldwin Park and West Covina pleaded not guilty to the , that includes  attempted murder, assault with firearms and drug possession that were filed against them.

According to Sandi Gibbons, spokesperson with the Los Angeles Distritct Attorney, both had a preliminary hearing Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court at West Covina. Both enter their pleas when arraigned last June 1st.

Miguel Del Real, a 20-year-old documented gang member from Baldwin Park, and Tanya Elizabeth Rodríguez, 33, resident of El Monte, led on a high-speed chase on May 30.

Officers attempted to detain the couple near the corner of Francisquito Ave. and Willow Ave. in Baldwin Park, but were not able to do so. The chase ended in West Covina, after Del Real drove into Bromley St., a dead-end road.
