Alleged 'Drug Addict' Arrested for Game Stop Robbery

The man--who has addresses in Monrovia and Baldwin Park--has been identified on surveillance footage and previous police encounters as Ryan Guenthard, said Lt. David Reynoso, spokesman with the BPPD.

Guenthard was apprehended by BPPD detectives at about 12:39 hours today while he was riding a bicycle in the area of Waco St. and Garvey Avenue, said Police,
Reynoso said the man walked into  on Jan. 23 asking for the store's hours of operation.

After he left, he returned near closing time, around 8:30 p.m., and approached the clerk behind the counter.
Police said he used a handgun, apologized to the employee, and demanded all the money in the register, saying "he needed the money for drugs."
Guenthard, fled the location in an unknown direction after receiving the cash in the register, said Reynoso.
The suspect was described as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes. He stands about 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 195 pounds, according to the description.
Authorities asked anyone with information about Guenthard to call detectives Norman Gonzalez and Luis Valdivia at 626-960-1955.
