Family of Motorcycle Victim In Need of Space to Hold Car Wash Event

The owner of a Mobil gas station complained that he would lose business and forced the family to find another location.

The car wash event that was to be held this Saturday at the parking lot of the restaurant on Ramona Blvd. has been cancelled, after the owner of a gas station and car wash complained about losing business.

According to Eva Rocha, the family is currently looking for another location to hold the car wash fundraiser to cover burial costs for Juan Lupian, on Sunday, June 17.

"May God bless him, that's all we can say," said Rocha. "He doesn't want to lose money and he complained so we won't hold the car wash there," she added.

The owner of the Mobil station, who identified himself only as "Sam", told Patch that he objected because he also owns a 'car wash' and he owns the property.

"If they had asked me first, maybe, but Del Taco can't do [nothing]", he said, using expletives.

Patch will offer updates provided by the family about the new location of the carwash fundraiser.
