Coroner ID's First Homicide Victim of 2012 in Baldwin Park

20-year-old victim was shot down in a residential area on the northwest part of the city.

Guillermo Reyes, a 20-year-old man who was the victim of a shooting in a residential area of the city, has become the first homicide casualty in Baldwin Park this year.

Ed Winter, Chief of the Los Angeles County Coroner, said Tuesday that the victim died from gunshot wounds on June 26.

Police authorities have not disclosed any further details about the incident, however, Lt. David Reynoso confirmed to Patch that this is the city's first reported homicide this year.

"We work our homicide cases along with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, and their Information Bureau is handling the press on this case", said Reynoso.

However, neither the Sheriff's Department nor members of the Detective Bureau could share further information about the homicide with Patch.

According to the Crime Reports registry, the incident took place at 10:46 p.m. on june 25, on the 4300 block of Center St., near the corner of Los Angeles St.
