Banning Grandfather ID'd As Victim In Fatal Redlands Crash
The crash was reported on westbound Interstate 10 near Nevada Street.
REDLANDS, CA — A driver who died following an Interstate 10 crash earlier this month in Redlands has been identified by the coroner as a Banning resident.
Albert Rubio, 59, died at 3 a.m. Sept. 21 at Loma Linda University Medical Center, according to the coroner.
Two hours earlier, Rubio was involved in a crash on westbound I-10 near Nevada Street. He was transported to the hospital but did not survive.

A GoFundMe page, which states Rubio's daughter started it, had raised nearly $12,000 as of Tuesday evening.

"My father Albert Rubio was an amazing man whose life was cut short so unexpectedly the early morning of September 21st, 2025," the page reads. "He was a victim in a fatal traffic collision.
"He was a deeply loved Husband, Father of 5, Grandpa of 11, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, and Cousin. We like to say that he brought the light and life to us all. He was THE pillar of our family who had a powerful soul that could be felt anywhere," the page continued.
"No one could have prepared us for this tremendous loss that we are facing and will continue to face everyday. To know him was to love him. He shared great memories with everyone that we will hold closely to our hearts," the page reads.
