Cleanup on Eastbound I-10 Exit Ramp to State Route 79 in Beaumont

The exit ramp to State Route 79 from eastbound Interstate 10 was temporarily closed Saturday June 8 while inmate crews picked up trash and cleaned the shoulder and landscaping.

A detour was set up for motorists headed for San Jacinto and Hemet to use the 6th Street exit from eastbound State Route 60 and the eastbound 10.

Workers were finishing up before noon, though the off-ramp remained closed, contributing to traffic delays at Beaumont's busiest freeway interchange.

Two blocks north of the 10, 6th Street was closed at Beaumont Avenue for the 2013 Cherry Festival Parade.
