Crews Contain Banning Brush Fire
Firefighters Saturday evening stopped the forward spread of a three- to five-acre brushfire in Banning.
BANNING, CA — Firefighters Saturday evening stopped the forward spread of a three- to five-acre brushfire in Banning.
The fire was reported at 8:10 p.m. near Old Banning Idyllwild Road and Wolfskill Truck Trail, said Riverside County Fire Department's Rob Roseen.
The blaze was in heavy brush with a slow rate of spread, Roseen said.

#WolfFire [UPDATE] 9:06 PM - The forward rate of spread has been stopped. The fire is currently approximately 3-5 acres. Fire resources will remain on scene for approximately 4-6 hours for mop up.

At 9:06 p.m., he reported the forward spread was stopped and crews planned to remain on the scene at least four more hours clearing a line of vegetation around the fire and putting out hot spots.
