Earthquake Hits Near Banning Early Sunday

BANNING, CA — A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck just a little over five-and-a-half miles north northwest of Banning on Sunday, according to the USGS.

Residents across Riverside County reported feeling the quake via the USGS' self-reporting service. The quake was felt around the immediate region and some even reported feeling it as far south as the San Diego area.

The quake struck the area just before 6 a.m., the USGS reports.
