Fire Burns Homes In San Bernardino, Prompts Evacuations
Aerial images showed homes going up in flames on Monday afternoon.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — Multiple homes were destroyed as a fire ripped through part of San Bernardino on Monday.
The Edghill Fire was first reported in vegetation near the 210 and 215 freeways around 3 p.m. and authorities said on X that there was an "immediate structure threat."
Shortly thereafter, San Bernardino County firefighters urged some residents to leave their homes as the fire burned nearby.

Aerial news images showed the flames spreading to structures. It wasn't immediately clear how many homes burned.
As of Tuesday morning, the fire was contained to 54 acres, according to the fire department. It was considered 75 percent contained, NBC reported.

An evacuation center was set up at Marshall Elementary School, located at 3288 NorthStreet.
