"While this was not the desired outcome, the Sheriff’s Department hopes finding Jagiello will bring some measure of closure to Jagiello’s family and aid in their healing process," the sheriff's department said.

One of her dogs was found alive inside the home but the other two remained missing, sheriff's Lt. Jeff Allison told the Associated Press.

Mudslides devastated mountain communities of Forest Falls and Oak Glen, where wildfires of years and months past had stripped had away vegetation that once held the topography together.

A public safety exclusion area remains in place for Prospect Road and Canyon Road in Forest Falls as workers continue to remove debris from roadways.

On Sept. 21, the county will host a Local Assistance Center at the Yucaipa Community Center to provide resources for the impacted communities of Oak Glen, Crestline and Forest Falls.
