Southbound 15 Lanes Close Due To IE Crash, Sigalert Issued

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

CAJON PASS, CA — A hours-long Siglalert on Interstate 15 remained in place Monday near the Cajon Pass after a semi overturned on the freeway.

The incident was reported at approximately 10 a.m. on southbound I-15, just north of state Route 138, according to the California Highway Patrol.

All southbound lanes were closed. One lane was reopened a few minutes after 11 a.m. As of 1 p.m., lanes #1 and #2 were open, but lanes #3 and #4 remained closed, the CHP reported. By 2:40 p.m., only the #4 was blocked.

A Sigalert was issued just before 10:30 a.m. It was still in place as of 4:20 p.m.

For most of the day, traffic was backed up into the high desert.

At least one other vehicle was involved in the crash. There was no immediate update on possible injuries.
