Vehicle Malfunction Causes Desert Hot Springs Wildfire
The fire that erupted Tuesday afternoon is 40 percent contained.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA -- A fire that erupted Tuesday afternoon from a vehicle malfunction in Desert Hot Springs is 40 percent contained. The fire, which has burned 40 acres, was first reported around 4 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Ninety firefighters were called to the scene of the fire on Palm Drive and 20th Avenue. One helicopter and 21 engines were also at the scene.
As of Wednesday morning, there were no evacuations or injuries reported.
