Affordable School Lunches: No Child in BRSSD Will Go Hungry
Applications are now available for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District's Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
The Belmont-Redwood Shores School District (BRSSD) has distributed application forms for Free and Reduced Lunch Program for the 2013-14 school year.
Here are five things families should know about the program. For more information, contact BRSSD or your school's office.
- Applications have been distributed with a letter informing them of the availability of free and reduced-price meals. Applications are also available at in the principal’s office at each school and may be submitted any time during the school year.
- All applications are confidential.
- Applications must include information on Food Stamp, CalWORKs, Kin-GAP, or FDPIR benefits or the names of all household members, the amount and source of the income received by each household member, and the signature and corresponding Social Security number of an adult household member.
- If a family member becomes unemployed or the family size changes, a new application should be filled out.
- If the applicant is dissatisfied with a determination of eligibility, the family can request a hearing.
